Gently move the body and let go of effort when you feel tired or overextended

When you feel like you’ve used up all your physical and mental resources, it helps to anchor your attention in the body and move it gently to replenish your energy. It also helps to let go of effort and allow yourself to rest physically, energetically, and mentally. This short yoga practice will invite you to do just that. I really enjoy all of your classes. I especially liked the use of ujjayi breath both in this class and the one in your new series “Revive and Recharge”. I found both classes to be very calming yet energizing. Can you explain the use of the graduated ujjayi? I am guessing it is used to ease you into a more energetic state and just want to make sure I have that right!

Thank you Jude! You are exactly right about the graduated Ujjayi – we use the change in volume to facilitate a change in the energetic state. Loud to quiet would calm us down and invite us to become more introspective, while quiet to loud would energize us (unless we are completely depleted, of course 🙂
