Get yourself off the couch
Is your couch calling you? Do you find yourself spending hours in its comfortable embrace? This happens to all of us, particularly around holidays. While it’s important to decompress and unwind with a book, iPad, or TV, spending too much time on the couch and in front of screens can make us feel stiff and antsy.
When you feel your body rebelling against the siren song of the couch, try this short yoga practice to loosen your body and clarify your mind. This yoga practice increases circulation to all the key areas that get tight from too much lounging: your neck, hips, and back. It also includes a short mediation to discharge excess sensory stimulation and help you feel more grounded and calm. Hi Olga, I have practiced with you many times during our long lockdowns here in Melbourne, Australia – I believe we hold the world record for longest lockdowns – and I am so grateful to you for your calm, knowledgeable, encouraging wisdom and movement in yoga.
