THIS YOGA SERIES IS FOR YOU IF YOU:

– Feel a sense of unease or dissatisfaction with how your life is unfolding.
– Want to become aware of the patterns in your life and begin making different choices.
– Are looking to develop an understanding of how your life experiences can alter your nervous system and change how you perceive the world.
– Find yourself ready to explore your inner layers and address past traumas and emotional pain.
– Want to use yoga and meditation to regulate your nervous system and develop better awareness of your body.

PLEASE NOTE

Any kind of Self-exploration begins with Self-awareness. Even if you do not engage in intricate yogic techniques, aim to become reflectively Self-conscious about the decisions you make and actions you take.
Your mind has tremendous power to influence your entire bodily system and every aspect of your experience. It is incredibly powerful but can also be very fragile. Please seek qualified help whenever you feel like your current strategies of self-soothing and self-stabilization are not working.

WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THE CHARIOT OF YOUR BODY?

The Katha Upanishad depicts the body as a chariot. In this material world, the body, or chariot, is pulled around by the five senses. The five senses are represented by horses; they charge chaotically in different directions so that we can indulge in what we see, hear, taste, smell, and touch. Pulled around by our senses, we try to satisfy one urge after another but never feel fulfilled.
The passenger on the chariot represents the Self, the center of consciousness, which is a neutral witness. The reins represent the mind, which is impulsive and easily distracted by whatever enters its field of vision. The mind can be pulled in many directions unless the charioteer, representing the higher Intellect, takes charge of the reins.

• Who is driving your chariot? Is your mind running wild, or have you taken charge of the reins?
• How internally aligned are you? Are you in touch with your senses, your mind, your higher Intellect, and your inner Self?
• What path are you taking in life, and who gets to decide? Is it a conscious choice?

The Katha Upanishad further states that only when the five senses stand still, and Intellect is firmly in charge of the reins of the mind, we enter the highest state of Yoga.

Would you like to experience the state of Yoga? Do you want to take charge of the reins of your mind, become more internally aligned, and make conscious decisions on your own path? In this series, we will explore how we can harness the vortex of the mind, heal our old wounds, and deepen our Self-awareness.

HOW DO WE DO IT IN THIS YOGA SERIES?

Learn how the brain works

You can get enormous benefits from studying texts about the mind, both traditional, like Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, and contemporary, like books and articles on neuroscience and psychology. In this series, you will experiment with viewing your mental activity through different lenses to understand why your brain does what it does and what steps you can take to direct it with more intention.

Observe the mind and get access to the inner layers

We are multidimensional beings, and when problems arise, they usually show up on multiple levels. However, the external layers can obscure what’s happening on the inside. Unless you examine the deeper layers, you are bound to tinker with symptoms rather than address the source of the problem. In this series, you will learn the strategies you can use to deepen your Self-awareness and Self-understanding.

Choose practices that help solve your current issues

The yoga tradition offers us a buffet of options that we can use to educate, train, and expand our minds, overcome our conditioning, and make more conscious choices. In this yoga series, you get to sample many of them and decide which one(s) works best for you right now. Getting a sense of what your system really needs and then satisfying that need is usually more effective than any advanced technique

Discover different parts of you, communicate with them, and release your past burdens

Often in life, we are confronted with conflicting narratives; one part of us might believe one thing, and another might disagree and perceive our experience from a different angle. In this series, we will take a look at the four main characters that live in your brain and how they affect your views of your body, your past, your inner and outer world. We will focus on developing a more harmonious relationship between different parts of ourselves to overcome our current challenges and heal our old wounds.

ABOUT THE SERIES

In this yoga series, we will explore how we can use yogic tools to purify the crystal of our minds by focusing our attention, building mental strength, cultivating emotional resilience, and gaining clarity in our thinking. We will use chanting, text study, meditation, and self-study along with physical postures and breathing practices to cultivate awareness of the body and mind, improve decision-making skills, boost creativity, sharpen concentration, and create greater emotional balance. With regular training of the mind through yogic techniques, we can learn how to live with greater focus, direction, and resilience.

WHAT YOU GET

This series consists of twelve chapters. Each chapter introduces a specific strategy for harnessing your mind, describes how it works, and suggests the yogic tools we can use. Each chapter includes an introductory video and one or several yoga practices that illustrate our discussed points. Each chapter also features several in-depth articles on the topic. We put all those articles together into a handy 132-page pdf file to give you a fuller picture of how your mind works and how you can impact it with your yoga practice.

HOW IT WORKS

You can do the practices included in this series in order or pick and choose the ones you need most. In each yoga practice, we will use movement, breath, and awareness to help you become more attuned to different layers of your body. Be sure to follow instructions on what to do with your breath and where to place your attention– those subtle details help you get better access to your mind.

WHAT TO FOCUS ON

Try different yogic strategies to see what works best for you. You might find that you get the most out of text study, or chanting, or meditation, or body talk, or maybe you just need rest right now. Getting a sense of what your system really needs and then satisfying that need is usually more effective than any intricate advanced technique.

Be sure that every movement you do in your yoga practice is done with attention to how it feels within your body and is guided by your breath.

Try to approach this series as an opportunity to connect to your body, to be patient with it, and to care for it. It’s the only one you have, so it’s wise to treat it with respect and appreciation.

ABOUT OLGA KABEL

Hi there! My name is Olga Kabel. I’ve been practicing and teaching yoga for over two decades. Over this period of time, as yoga had carried me over life’s peaks and valleys, I came to realize that yoga to me is not about achieving a particular physique, but more about how I handle life’s challenges, big and small, that get thrown my way. It is also about finding joy and contentment in everyday moments. To me, yoga is not just a thing to do, but a place to be—it’s a state of feeling more centered, more awake, and more aware of my experiences. This is why I practice yoga, and this is how I teach it. This is why I’ve made yoga both my profession and a way of life.

I don’t want you to miss out on the full potential of what yoga has to offer. Regular yoga practice has the power to transform any area of your life for the better. One thing that’s always fascinated me about yoga is its ability to affect change. We all know change is inevitable—our bodies and our lives go through it every single day. We cannot stop change (no matter how hard we try), but through our yoga practice, we can affect the direction of change. This redirection doesn’t need to be dramatic—even the slightest one will set you on an entirely new course. And this can show up in any area of your life, whether it’s your health, your work, your relationships, or your experiences of joy and contentment.

This is amazing, it truly helped me out in such a profound way. Thank you Olga, so so much. I hope you understand what a substantial impact this had on my day and on my mind, body, & soul. I feel and believe that I am at peace with myself, be it temporarily or longer than expected, and that I can rid myself of the poisons in my life and energy. I will be using this every day in my journey, so thank you very very much. Namaste.

Thank you so much for this. It’s exactly what I needed. I will continue to practice this every day I can, I felt cleansed of the negative and worry afterwards. I had a real smile on my face towards the end, I love it.

So wonderful! I actually felt like my head was floating above my neck–such release and relaxation in a tense part of my body. Thank you! 🙏
