Settle your stomach and stimulate your vagus nerve
The lining of our digestive systems has as many neurons as the spinal cord and as many neurotransmitters as the brain, yet nobody really knows what it’s for. Some scientists suggest that a big part of our emotions might be influenced by the nerves in our gut. After all, about 95% of serotonin, the feel-good neurotransmitter, is found in the gut.
The bottom line is that the health and vitality of our digestive system is so critical to our well-being, that our brains need a direct connection to our guts. That connection is maintained via the vagus nerve. In this yoga practice we will use breath and movement to bring our attention to the gut and then try to envision that connection between our guts and our brains. We will also use slow exhalation and humming to stimulate the vagus nerve and ensure calm and smooth communication between our guts and our brains.
Give it a try and let me know how it feels!

Thank you Olga. A deeply relaxing practice.

yay. SOOTHED the brain after doing a previous cobra sequence.
This vagus nerve calming really relieved the brain/mind feeling of overstimulation.
RE: PREVIOUS cobra poses on own.
There is a pattern when the belly gets pressure especially with the bow pose, there is disorientation in the brain.
